Facial recognition technology identifies a person from an image or a video. In recent years it has become more accessible and widespread: now it is used in innovative solutions as apps for personal photos and smartphone authentication.
It uses a series of intelligent algorithms that identifies the position of the face of the person in the frame, maps it and measures the distance between the most significant facial features (i.e., between the eyes, the eyes and the nose, etc.). The resulting points are then transformed into coordinates that contain information regarding the face of the person being scanned.
