In the future we may be able to write simply with the power of thought. Facebook is experimenting with a device that can read the electrical signals from the brain, linked to listening and responding to a question.
By implanting electrodes in the brain, it has been possible to decode thought in real time, distinguishing the neural signals associated with comprehension from those linked to the production of speech. Therefore, it should be possible to translate a thought into text, without having to actually enunciate it.
Now all we have to do is start deciding what we want to write without touching the keyboard.
